How to reach us and what to send

Two ways to reach the practice, and a short list of what to include so the first message is complete. We reply with a written scope and quote by email before any work; nothing is quoted or opined in messages.

Message on Instagram (opens Instagram)or open @breakcheckbarragan90 (opens Instagram)

Opening line: “Hi — I have some cards and would like to ask about an appraisal.

What to send

Collectors: cards or photographs

For an appraisal, an authentication opinion or a pre-grade, the first message is complete when it has:

  • Photographs of the front and back, flat on a matte surface, straight on
  • All four corners close up, and the edges in raking light
  • A ten-second video tilting the card under a light so the surface shows
  • Roughly how many cards, and whether any are already graded
  • What it is for: insurance, a sale decision, an estate, a donation, a dispute, or curiosity

Shops: documented breaks and the hub

For a documented break, tell us:

  • The product and how many boxes or cases
  • Preferred dates, and whether the break happens at your premises or an agreed venue in the Yuma area
  • Whether you want hits pre-graded and submitted through the hub (grading fees prepaid by you)
  • Whether you want staff certified on the condition standard at the same time

Training and certification

For staff certification or a course, tell us:

  • How many staff, and their experience
  • When you would like to run it
  • Seat licences or a site licence

Not in Yuma?

Send links to a shared folder (Google Drive, iCloud, Dropbox) or an unlisted video. Please do not email originals.

  • The same photographs and video as above
  • Your city, so the report states the right jurisdiction and the shipping option if cards need to travel

What happens next

  1. Step 1: Message or email

On Instagram or by email. Say what you have and what it is for.

  2. Step 2: Written scope and quote by email

Before any work. Flat or hourly, stated in writing.

  3. Step 3: Engagement letter

What we will do, what we will not do, and the disclosures.

  4. Step 4: Work and delivery

Inspection, report or recording, then delivery by email.

Before you message

Can you tell me what it is worth in a message?

No. A message starts a conversation; a value, authenticity or grade opinion comes only in a written report after an engagement letter.

Do you buy cards?

No. We never buy, sell, broker or consign cards, and we do not make offers.

Where do we meet?

The practice is locally operated in Yuma, AZ 85364 and has no storefront. In person means your home, your shop or an agreed venue in the Yuma area, by appointment.
