What to send

What the first message needs

For an appraisal, an authentication opinion or a pre-grade, the first message is complete when it has:

  • Clear photographs of the front and back, flat on a matte surface, straight on
  • All four corners close up, and the edges in raking light
  • A ten-second video tilting the card under a light so the surface shows
  • The total card count and the current graded status of each
  • The purpose of the valuation: insurance, an estate, a sale decision, a donation or a dispute
  • The claim, policy or matter reference, the intended use of the report, and the date the value is needed as of

Questions

Will my insurer accept it?

Ask your agent what the policy requires; our format follows common scheduled-property requirements and we adjust to what they specify.

What does an adjuster need from you?

An identification of each item, its pre-loss condition if it can be established, its post-loss condition, and a value under the policy’s definition, with the method stated.

Do you testify?

On request, quoted in advance. Written reports are prepared so that they can stand on their own.
