In practice
Insurance documentation in practice
Insurance documentation suits collectors with enough value in cards to need a scheduled-property rider, and agents who need a clean inventory before they can bind coverage. Adjusters use the same record after a claim, because it shows what was there and in what condition before the loss.
The fee is a flat fee for the collection, quoted in writing before work begins, with an optional yearly update. What changes the quote is the size of the collection and the format your agent asks for. It is never a percentage of the value we record, and we prepare documentation only: we do not sell or broker insurance.
A typical example: a collector adds a rider for a growing binder of graded cards. We photograph every item, list each one with its value and effective date, and send a summary letter the agent can attach to the policy. A year later, the update adds the new cards and refreshes the values.
How it works
How insurance documentation runs
- Tell us roughly how many cards are in the collection and what your insurer or agent has asked for.
- We send a written scope with the flat fee for the collection and the timeline.
- We photograph each item front and back and build a valuation schedule with its definition of value and effective date.
- You receive the inventory, the schedule and a summary letter for your agent, with an optional yearly update.

Questions
Will my insurer accept it?
Ask your agent what the policy requires; our format follows common scheduled-property requirements and we adjust to what they specify.
How often should it be updated?
Once a year, or whenever you add or sell significant cards.
Do you sell insurance?
No. We prepare documentation only and can point you to agents who write collectibles coverage.
