Insurance, claims and donations

What does insurance documentation include?

In short: An item-level photo inventory, a valuation schedule with the definition of value and its effective date, a summary letter for your agent, and a secure retained copy, with an optional annual update.

Each part has a job:

  • Photo inventory: front, back and identifying marks for every item
  • Valuation schedule: a value per item, the definition of value and the date it applies to
  • Summary letter: a short cover letter your agent can file with the schedule
  • Retained copy: kept securely under the retention and consent policy, so the record survives if yours does not

The format follows common scheduled-property requirements, and I adjust it to what your agent asks for.
