For insurers, adjusters, attorneys and executors

A trading-card valuation you can put in the file.

Prepared to USPAP standards, signed by the appraiser who did the work, with the definition of value, the effective date, the method and its limitations stated. Fees are flat or hourly and never a percentage of value.

Why an independent practice

Three things that do not change

  • Prepared to USPAP standards

Scoped, researched, reported and kept on file the way the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice require, so the report can be relied on.

  • No interest in the outcome

The practice never buys, sells, brokers or consigns cards. The fee does not change with the number, so the number cannot be shaped by the fee.

  • Custody and retention you can audit

Anything in custody is logged and stored; reports, photographs and logs are kept for seven years under a published retention policy.

How it works

How an appraisal engagement works

  1. Step 1: Message or email

Tell us what you have and what it is for. Photographs, a count and the intended use are enough to start.

  2. Step 2: Written scope and quote

We reply by email with what the engagement covers, the fee basis and the timeline. Fees are flat or hourly, never a percentage of value.

  3. Step 3: Inspection

In person across the Yuma area, or remote from your photographs and video with that limitation stated in the report.

  4. Step 4: Report and delivery

A signed written report with the method, the photographs and the certification with disclosures, delivered by email as a PDF and kept under the retention policy.

The full processWhat to send

Financial transparency

The terms are in writing before the work is

Nothing is quoted or opined in messages. The scope, the fee basis and the timeline arrive by email, the engagement letter sets out what the practice will and will not do, and every conflict of interest is disclosed in that letter.

Engagement terms

  • Fee stated before work: flat per report or hourly, never a percentage of value
  • Engagement letter with the intended use of the report and every disclosure
  • Remote reports state that no physical inspection was performed
  • Reports and photographs retained for seven years

Before you message

Will my insurer accept the report?

Written appraisals are prepared to USPAP standards with the definition of value, the effective date and the method stated, which is what underwriters and adjusters look for. Ask your carrier for any form it requires and we will match it.

Can you work from the insurer’s photographs?

Yes, with the limitation stated in the report that no physical inspection was performed. Where the cards are available, an inspection is stronger.

Do you testify?

Litigation support and expert-witness work are available on request, hourly and quoted in advance.
