Can I ask you to delete my records?
In short: Yes. Email me and I will delete your own records early, unless a dispute or claim is open that the record supports.
Your records are yours to keep or remove. Send the request by email so there is a written trail, and I will confirm in writing when it is done.
Two things to know first. If a claim or dispute is open and the record supports it, I keep it until that is settled; deleting evidence in the middle of a dispute helps nobody. And once a break recording is deleted, any certificate link that points to it stops working, so buyers of those cards lose the ability to watch it. The retention and consent policy sets this out.
A good request names the date or rough date of the engagement and which records you want removed, for example the break recording but not the condition sheets. That makes it quick to find everything tied to the job. You can also ask what I hold about you first, and I will tell you. Anything you do not ask me to delete is kept to the normal schedule and deleted at the end of the retention period.
