About me and the practice

How do I raise a concern or dispute?

In short: Email me first and I answer in writing. The engagement letter states the governing law (Arizona) and the process that follows.

Write to breakcheckbarragan@gmail.com with the engagement, what went wrong and what you would like done. Putting it in email keeps a record both of us can refer to, and I reply in writing.

If the concern involves a card's condition or a recording, the record is often the quickest way to settle it. Records that support an open dispute are kept even if a deletion request is made; see what happens to records during a dispute.

What to include

The date of the engagement, the item or report it concerns, and the outcome you are asking for. Photographs of the card as it is now help if the concern is about condition. I try to reply within three business days.

What the record can show

A documented break has continuous video, and every documented card has a condition sheet recorded as observed at the time and date stamped on it. Comparing the card now against that record usually answers the question faster than memory can. Those records are kept under the retention and consent policy. The fee for work already done is set by the engagement letter; see can a quote change after I agree to it?.
