Do you charge for travel?
In short: Travel beyond the Yuma area is quoted in the written scope, so you see the cost before you agree. Most people outside the area use the remote clinic instead.
In-person work happens by appointment across Yuma, the Foothills, Somerton, San Luis and Wellton. If a job needs me farther away, the travel is a line in the quote, never a surprise on the invoice.
For many collections, the remote clinic is the cheaper route: you photograph the cards and I work from the images, with that limitation stated in the report.
How in-person appointments work
Appointments are at your home, your shop or an agreed venue in the Yuma area, and local card shops sometimes host appraisal days. There is no storefront to visit. Where do we meet for an appointment? has the details.
When travel makes sense
Travel is worth it when the cards need a physical inspection that photographs cannot give, such as weight and thickness checks. The quote shows the travel cost next to the work, so you can compare it with the remote option before you decide.
